September Speaker Series: University of Wyoming’s Proposed Academic Reorganization
After a short break from our speaker series during the summer growing season, we’re excited to return with an important topic. This month’s speaker series is focused on the proposed academic restructuring of the University of Wyoming. As many of you may know, this proposed change includes some significant reorganization of programs involving the College of Agriculture.
UW’s agricultural programs and the agriculture extension department are valuable resources to Wyoming. Because this change may have affects to these programs, WFC felt this is an important opportunity to help share information with the public.
Thursday’s session will include information from members of UW’s agriculture and extension programs on the proposed changes and the possible outcomes.
Speakers:
Dr. Barbara Rasco, Dean of Agriculture and Natural Resources
Kelly Crane, Associate Dean of Agriculture and the Director of the Extension Service
- Dr. David Jones, Dean of the College of Health Sciences
- Dr. Christine Porter, Professor and Wyoming Excellence Chair in Community & Public Health
Lastly, UW is currently accepting public input on the proposed restructuring plan. The public comment period will end on Oct 1st (the day after our speaker series). Though this does not leave much time between the speaker session and the end of the comment period, we hope that it will help you provide well-informed comment on the plan.
