March Speaker Series: What do Customers Want to Know?

A major reason why people want to purchase locally grown food is to know its origin story. But, what is pertinent information to a customers? How much is too much detail?

In this virtual session, the Central Wyoming College Community Food System Specialist Melissa Hemken will cover the labels and descriptors that customers recognize and value for their food.

She will discuss story-based marketing, how to describe farm and ranch management practices to customers, and the importance of photos and video to showcase how you grow the local food that you sell. Melissa will also cover strategies for social media, email newsletters, and websites.
