Wyoming food coalition

Wy food matters

Strengthening local food systems by connecting stakeholders and amplifying their voices so that Wyoming producers, consumers, and environments thrive.

August 25th: Concentration of the Meatpacking Industry & Solutions

Join us for a presentation and discussion on the overall concentration in the meatpacking industry, challenges to producers, and potential solutions to what we’re lacking at the regional and state level, such as mobile slaughter units and training programs. Amanda Winchester with Central Wyoming College will present on Mobile Slaughter Units (MSUs) and what they can offer for small operations and dilute the concentration of the meatpacking industry. She will also provide information about the Meat Processing Certificate Program at CWC. There will be time for questions at the end.
